Transferring the hair follicles of someone from his/her hair region to his/her hairless region is called hair transplantation.The operation, which is commonly used for male pattern hair loss, is also applied on many women today. Grafts collected in hair transplantation are taken from the area where the hair is genetically coded not to shed. Besides hair transplantation, also in eyelash, eyebrow, sideburn, beard and mustache transplantations, grafts collected from the donor area are used.
In one graft there are approximately 1 to 4 hair strands. Forthis reason it is known as follicular unit transplantation. Thanks to today’s modern techniques, it is possible to reach the natural hair structure.
